About US
Stomp the Swamp
In Fall 2010, Lauren Kleiman founded Stomp the Swamp at the University of Florida with only three members and some plywood. Over the next four years, Stomp the Swamp grew from three members to thirty! Stomp the Swamp has hosted three annual dance showcases benefiting the organization Dancers Responding to AIDS and in total they have raised over $7500. In addition to hosting showcases we also host workshops at dance studios all around Florida and participate in many performances, including Walt Disney World!
Stomp the Swamp's mission is to share knowledge and passion for tap while bettering the community. We encourage anyone with a love for tap to join our group and jam with us. We are very excited to see what this next year has in store for us!

Dancers Responding to AIDS and the Stomp the Swamp Mission
Stomp the Swamp's founding and mission was inspired by tap dancer Ryan Kasprzak's promotional youtube video "A Dance for Life" for Dancers Responding to AIDS. In this video he says "Be more than just steps. Dance for Life." Stomp the Swamp takes pride in their mission to better the community through rhythm tap and to use their passion for dance and fundraising initiatives to support Dancers Responding to AIDS. Stomp the Swamp organizes an annual dance showcase benefiting DRA and incorporating numerous other dance groups in the Gainesville community. Stomp the Swamp is very thankful for the strong and supportive relationship they have built with Dancers Responding to AIDS over the last four years. We would like to thank Denise Roberts Hurlin and the entire DRA staff for their ongoing love and support and for adding meaning and purpose to our "steps".
